About Flute Day
Flute Day is here again! High school flutists and guest collegiate flutists will perform in a morning masterclass with Dr. John Bailey, University of Nebraska-Lincoln Larson Professor of Music (flute) and guest artist, Dr. Eileen Yarrison. Requests to play in the masterclasses will be honored as received, with preference given to 11th- and 12th-graders and visiting college flutists. Younger flutists will be selected as space permits. Those selected to play in the masterclasses will be contacted. Everyone else is an auditor, and auditors learn as much or more than selected masterclass performers! There will be a flute choir reading session for all participants (bring your flutes!), a guest recital featuring flute chamber works, and a final flute choir concert featuring Lincoln’s own Coro di Flauti and the Flute Day Festival Choir!
