Mark E. Button has served as dean since July 1, 2019. He was a previously a member of the political science faculty at the University of Utah from 2001-2019, serving as department chair from 2014-2019. Prior to his role as chair, he served as associate chair, director of graduate studies, and Honors advisor.

Button says the best thing about Nebraska is the spirit and graciousness of the people, (the thunderstorms are pretty impressive as well!), and being a Husker means a strong work ethic, resilience, and caring and supporting each other.
