10 Mar 2015     By Brad Stauffer

The graduate education program in the College of Education and Human Sciences (CEHS) at the University of Nebraska–Lincoln jumped eight spots to number 40 in national rankings released March 10, 2015 by U.S. News & World Report. Nebraska moved past Big Ten counterparts Rutgers and Iowa in this year’s rankings.

CEHS Dean Marjorie Kostelnik said the climb in this year’s rankings reflects the college’s success in preparing students to make a difference in the lives of individuals, families, schools and communities.

“The College of Education and Human Sciences continues to focus on providing our students with excellent teaching, relevant experiences and value,” Kostelnik said. “To climb in these rankings provides us with another form of verification that we are succeeding in meeting our students’ needs.”

U.S. News graduate education program rankings are based on expert opinion and statistical indicators that measure the quality of a school’s faculty, research and students. Surveys were sent to graduate program administrators at over 1,900 schools and more than 13,700 academics and professionals in the disciplines. Data were collected in the fall of 2014 and early 2015.
