35 UNL students inducted into Phi Beta Kappa

Lincoln, Neb., May 31st, 2013 —

            Thirty-five University of Nebraska-Lincoln students were initiated into membership in Phi Beta Kappa this spring.

            Phi Beta Kappa is the nation's oldest academic honor society, recognizing and encouraging a commitment to excellence in the liberal arts and sciences. Following is a list of the students who were inducted, including their academic major(s) and their parents' and spouses' names. All were in the May 4 graduating class.

NEBRASKA

            Alliance: Michael G. Stewart, biochemistry, microbiology and chemistry, son of Terry and Judy Stewart.

            Aurora: Audrey Fox, communication studies, daughter of Larry Jr. and Paige Fox.

            Elkhorn: Samantha Pilmaier, biological sciences, daughter of Timothy and Joni Pilmaier.

Garrett of Lincoln; Christie Morton, political science and international studies, daughter of Rochelle Morton; Stephanie Spar, global studies, daughter of Greg and Tina Spar.

            Omaha: Bridget Agnew, psychology and sociology, daughter of Jerome and Pandora Agnew; Garrett Allen, philosophy, son of Keith and Paula Allen; Madeline Kay Chester, English; Timothy Lundy, English and classical languages, son of Steve and Eileen Lundy; Evan Nash, mathematics, son of Robert and Mary Nash; Stephen Szalewski, chemical and biomolecular engineering, and physics, son of John and Tina Szalewski; Catherine Tran, women's and gender studies, daughter of Paul Tran and Christine Nguyen.

            Wahoo: Mary Burke, mathematics, daughter of Patrick and Angela Burke.
