Event Description

BBR Fall Webinar Series continues on November 2, 2018 with a discussion on the skills gap in Nebraska regions.

Dr. Eric Thompson, director of the Bureau of Business Research and Dillon Cornett, workforce and business research analyst at the Nebraska Department of Labor will discuss the labor market research recently developed for the Omaha, Lincoln, Fremont, Columbus and Norfolk areas.

The labor market research includes surveys of business regarding hiring and training needs, surveys of households regarding labor availability and a skills gap analysis for each area. Skills gap research from the Bureau of Business Research examines the balance between entrance and openings in occupations, and the role of education, training, wage rates and other factors in addressing gaps in skill.

Research presented by the Nebraska Department of Labor will feature findings on hiring and training needs and labor availability in each area.

Attendees will have an opportunity to ask questions and share their thoughts during the Q&A session.
