Southeast Nebraska Workshop Series

Nebraska Extension is excited to offer four programs inspired by Annie's Project in southeast Nebraska between January and March 2020.

Annie's Project is a national program dedicated to providing educational programs designed to strengthen women's roles in their farming operations. These programs provide women opportunities to learn from agricultural professionals and connect with other women in agriculture in a relaxed, fun and dynamic setting. Participants will be able to interact with the speaker and join in hands-on activities.

A registration fee of $5 per person (per class) will cover a light meal, handouts and additional resources.

These courses are hosted by Nebraska Extension and are inspired by Annie’s Project. Annie’s Project is supported by Farm Credit Service of American in Nebraska.

Beef 101 - Monday, Jan. 6 in Osceola

Learn about beef and forage sampling from Extension Educator Brad Schick. The educational program will focus on scoring the body condition of cows, cattle handling and sampling forages for analysis. You'll learn how to apply the testing report to your herd.

The program will run 6-8 p.m. at the Polk County Fairgrounds, 12931 N Blvd.

Farm & Ranch Budgets and Financials - Monday, Feb. 3 in David City

This class will walk you through the free Farm & Ranch budgets offered by the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Extension economist Glennis McClure will address how to best utilize these budgets and how to fit them to your business.

The program will run 6-8 p.m. at the Hruska Memorial Public Library, 399 N. 5th St.

Mental Health and Stress Management - Monday, March 2 in Seward

Learn how to recognize stress in yourself and others, ways to cope and tips for caring for your own mental health. Extension Educator Brandy VanDeWalle will share tools and resources that will help you to manage your own stress levels and to be more aware of the mental health of those around you.

The program will run 6-8 p.m. at the Seward Civic Center, 616 Bradford St..
