Join Nebraska Extension and use the following form to register for the opportunity to learn how to create unique gifts with crochet! These crochet workshops will take place every other Thursday via Zoom from 5:30 - 6:30 PM (MST).

Everyone starts somewhere, and for someone new to crochet, it is important to know what hooks to start out with. If you are new to crochet, make sure to invest in crochet hooks that are sizes H (5.00 mm), I (5.50 mm), and J (6.00 mm). We will get to using other sizes, but those are the best to start out with when you start learning! For yarn, you will want to purchase medium weight (worsted) yarn. Look for acrylic yarn (my favorite to work with is "I Love This Yarn!" from Hobby Lobby). We will be practicing making wash cloths and pot holders at some point, so be sure to look for some fun-colored cotton yarn (a good brand to start out with is called Peaches n' Cream - you can find it in most craft stores and Walmart)! Other tools that you will need are: scissors, yarn needles, and patience!
