Ganie awarded Canadian Journal of Plant Science Outstanding Reviewer

Zahoor A. Ganie, University of Nebraska–Lincoln agronomy and horticulture postdoctoral research associate, was awarded Outstanding Reviewer Award by the Canadian Journal of Plant Science for consistently and expeditiously delivering comprehensive, discerning reviews to the journal's authors.

Ganie was a doctoral student from 2013 to 2016 with Amit Jhala, assistant professor of agronomy and horticulture and Nebraska Extension weed specialist. His thesis was titled “Mechanism of resistance, gene flow an integrated management of ragweeds (Ambrosia) in Nebraska.”

Ganie’s current research focuses on the confirmation and mechanism of herbicide-resistance, dispersal of herbicide-resistant weeds and integrated weed management in row crops such as rice, corn and soybean.

Ganie has published 11 peer-reviewed journal articles, two book chapters and several extension articles based on his research. Currently, he serves as an associate editor for Agronomy Journal and Indian Journal of Weed Science. He is also a reviewer for several journals including Nature Scientific Reports, Pest Management Science, Crop Science and Canadian Journal of Plant Science.
