Nebraska Community of Learners — Understanding Diversity through Education

#NCLUDE learning groups offer a space to talk candidly about inclusive excellence as a part of our everyday interactions. These small groups are intended to develop relationships in concentrated areas of introspection over a semester to help students, faculty, staff, alum, and the larger community understand and embrace the opportunities we have to create a greater sense of inclusion for all. All are welcome.

Mission & Vision

Digging Deeper Together

Each semester, the Office of Diversity and Inclusion will facilitate the organization of various small learning groups. In each small group, six to twelve people gather for at least six one-hour meetings (virtual or in-person) to focus on a particular diversity, equity, and inclusion topic. The focus of small groups varies but may include topics like inclusive culture, interrupting racism, allyship, and equity-minded teaching. Group members prepare for meetings by reading, journaling, or other forms of self-education. Meetings focus on collective reflection regarding the material as it informs their personal and professional lives, emphasizing everyday actions individuals can take to address their particular topic. At the end of the semester, ODI will host one large gathering to collectively reflect on the learning that took place over the course of the semester.

It’s wonderful to be part of the #NCLUDE community and feel the support and commitment to change our world. Thank you for the opportunity and encouragement!!!!
